🌿 Ideal Growing Conditions
Vandas like this thrive when their natural tropical epiphytic preferences are mimicked: bright light, warmth, humidity, and good air movement.
☀️ Light
-
Bright light with some indirect sun is ideal — aim for 4–6 hours of bright filtered light daily. Too little light can impede blooming.
🌡️ Temperature
-
Prefers warm conditions (about 20 °C–35 °C). Protect from cold drafts and extreme temperatures.
💧 Water & Humidity
-
Water thoroughly when aerial roots turn silvery; allow them to dry slightly before the next watering.
-
High humidity (60–80%) supports strong growth and flowering — mist regularly or use humidity trays.
🌬️ Air Circulation
-
Excellent air movement helps prevent rot and supports root health — keep fans or natural breezes around the plant.
🌱 Container / Mount
-
Best in a hanging basket with free roots and minimal medium. This setup mimics its natural epiphytic habit and allows airflow.
🌿 Fertilization
-
Weekly feeding with a balanced orchid fertilizer during active growth encourages vigorous roots and flowers.
🌼 Blooming & Display
-
Blooms often: With good care, your plant can flower several times per year.
-
Lifespan of blooms: Individual flower sprays on Vandas can last 6–8 weeks under ideal conditions.
-
The clean white blossoms make it excellent for decorative displays in homes, balconies, or greenhouses and are often used for events like weddings because of their elegant look.
