🌿 Caring for Dendrobium Mana Blue

1. Light

  • Needs: Bright, indirect sunlight. It thrives in east or west-facing windows.

  • Avoid: Direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.

  • Tip: If leaves are dark green, it may need more light. Light green leaves are ideal.

2. Temperature

  • Day: 70–85°F (21–29°C)

  • Night: 60–65°F (16–18°C)

  • Avoid: Cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C)

3. Watering

  • Frequency: Water thoroughly when the potting mix is almost dry, usually every 5–7 days.

  • Seasonal Note: Reduce watering in winter when growth slows.

  • Avoid: Letting the roots sit in water; use a pot with drainage.

4. Humidity

  • Ideal Range: 50–70%

  • Boosting Humidity: Use a humidity tray or room humidifier if your air is dry.

5. Fertilizing

  • Type: Use a balanced orchid fertilizer (20-20-20 or similar).

  • Frequency: Every 2 weeks during growing season (spring–fall); once a month in winter.

  • Tip: Flush the pot with water once a month to prevent salt buildup.

6. Repotting

  • When: Every 2–3 years or when the medium breaks down.

  • Medium: Use a chunky orchid mix (bark, perlite, sphagnum).

  • Best Time: After blooming.

🛠️ Handling Tips

  • Staking: Tall canes may need staking for support.

  • Cleaning: Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust.

  • Post-Bloom Care: Don’t cut off the canes; they may rebloom or produce keikis (baby orchids).

  • Transporting: Handle gently by the pot or base of the canes—avoid touching the flowers.
