🌿 Tolumnia ‘Flyer Lady Bug’ Care Guide:

1. Light:

  • Bright, indirect light (3,000–5,000 foot-candles).

  • Tolerates some direct morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon rays.

  • A south or east-facing window is ideal.

2. Temperature:

  • Day: 70–85°F (21–29°C)

  • Night: 60–65°F (15–18°C)

  • Likes good air movement.

3. Humidity:

  • Prefers 50–70% humidity.

  • Use a humidity tray or mist the plant regularly if your home is dry.

4. Watering:

  • Water when the roots and medium dry out—generally every 2–3 days in warm seasons.

  • Avoid overwatering. Good drainage is essential.

  • Water in the morning to allow the plant to dry by evening.

5. Potting Medium:

  • Mounted on cork or tree fern slabs, or potted in a very open medium like coarse bark, sphagnum moss, or a combination.

  • Repot or remount every 1–2 years or when medium breaks down.

6. Fertilizing:

  • Feed with a balanced orchid fertilizer (20-20-20) diluted to 1/4 to 1/2 strength.

  • Fertilize weekly during growth season (spring & summer), less frequently in winter.

  • “Weekly weakly” method works well.

7. Air Circulation:

  • Requires good air circulation to prevent fungal diseases.

  • Avoid stagnant air—use a fan if indoors.

🤲 Handling Tips:

  • Handle gently by the base or mount; avoid touching delicate flowers.

  • Be careful with roots when watering or repotting.

  • Clean tools before trimming or dividing to prevent infections.
